Far Away Fate
The very enthusiastic and talented band out of Barbados held it’s album launch party Saturday night in Shakers on the Avenue. The opening act was Far Away Fate from Siparia.

Not a bad show at all, they definitely kept the crowds attention with their own songs and some good Deaftones covers while Standing Pennance revved up for their show.

Far Away Fate
Penance on the Stage
Tearhead, Hanji, Valkyrie and LeXX took to the stage with 2 sets each with about 15 songs! Their performance was definitely banging, a heavy metal performance definitely worth seeing. Band members ripped out their guitars and hardest cloths ... yes even the rainbow colored socks.

Standing Penance showed off the improvements and talent as compared to their performance at Samaan tree some years back. Their original songs displayed their diversity and cohesiveness as a band using their talent to make each song unique.

Why Trinis WHY?
Sometimes good things don't get as much attention as they really should. This really applies to Standing Penance and their album launch. These guys, and gal are just really damn good. Even so the crowd at Shakers for the album launch just was not enough in my opinion. Where was the support Trini rockers? I know we like to duck a cover charge, but come on ... if you really do love rock, you should have made the effort to come out and see a good band perform.

Sorry about that little rant, for the peeps who made it out there and supported the band, I say DAMN STRAIGHT! I hope you enjoyed your bangover.

I really think that the band has potential to go far. Hopefully they return to Trinidad in future and next next time we better come out in drones to cheer for this epic band.
