United We Rock

Date:- 29/03/2014
Venue :- Samaan Tree park
Event type:- Rock show (live performance)
Performers: Soakin, Far Away Fate, BON CANE, Tremor

The Samaan Tree is one of the more popular venues for rock shows in Trinidad. United We Rock was held outside the bar rather than inside the park where the Samaan Tree Rock Festival is usually held.

Band Performances
The event featured local performers Soakin, Far Away Fate, BON CANE and Tremor. Rockers “united” at the front stage forming a head banging mosh-pit further encouraged by Angostura’s hamper giveaways to the best head banger.

Far Away Fate
Originally the band Far Away Fate was not scheduled to play on the night but just two days before the event the band hopped on to the roster of bands to perform. Of all the bands to perform Far Away Fate is the only one I have never seen on stage before and their performance was quite impressive, I would go so far as to say they were the best performance on stage that night.

Ink in the pit
Rock, mosh and tats … these are the ingredients of any rock show and the tattoos were abundant. Modified ink tattoo studio popped their display up at the concert giving supporters a chance to get tattoos and look through their portfolio of body art.

Caring for Carnage
The rock community truly united for the occasion as donations passed around for "Caring for Carnage”. The fundraiser was held to assist in the surgery for one of the rock communities’ long standing members Carnage Mohammed.

This event was one of the smaller events to take place at the bar however I’m sure the rock community appreciates it all the same. Hopefully United We Rock can evolve into a more regular event where we can see more crowd participation, bigger bands and just … more of that R&R we love so much … and I aint talking about rest and relaxation.
