NO HIDING!

If you've been following this blog it's only natural you would want to know who is writing what you're reading. I'm also doing this because I'm going to start a section of the blog called "Damn Straight" where I will be pretty much voicing my opinions on the rock and EDM scene, of course you are invited to criticize my opinions and leave a comment.

I think it's about time you met the person behind REDM.

 
My name is Jesse Bonterre, born 1988 and raised in Trinidad. NO! I am not a musician, producer or promoter or anyone of relevance to the music industry! I'm just a fan, just like most of you. Currently I am a part time student and studying and working in Graphic Design.

I have always been a follower of Rock and EDM inclusive of many other genres, a do what I like and like what I do kind of guy. I dabble in many other areas, be it video editing, photography, hiking, gaming, card play … hell anything. Music alters my mood and affects my art, so it’s truly important to me to get into that creative trance. You will almost always find me blearing out tunes or with headphones cupping my ears, “non of that in ear nonsense”.

You may want to know why would someone like me be bothered with something like REDM. Ill admit, I really can’t put words to it myself. It surely does not benefit me nor do I really think it ever will however there is a bit of a story and a general feeling I have towards it that motivates me.

REDM started as a school project, simply to create a blog that I would be interested in. Somehow I realized that the music I so loved really had no presence online … that is not a "local" online presence. Having a background in marketing and knowing how powerful a tool the online world is. I embarked on making a social chain that could potentially give TT Rock and EDM the facelift it needs. 

MY HOPES
REDM may not last forever, I am one person and this is evolving into a task far larger than I imagined but hopefully it may inspire others who may be more suited or capable to join in or take up the mantle and truly give the genres what they deserve.

I think it’s time we came crashing through our little island with a wave of Rock and EDM again, and even if this is a drop in the bucket I hope it helps. 

Lastly if ever any readers think my opinions suck, hit me up. I'm human like everyone else and live to learn so if you disagree, my word is far from law ... start a discussion telling me why I'm wrong :)
